TIMELESS ARTWORKS OF RAYMUND LIU

HONGKONG HARBOUR AT BREAK OF DAWN

HONGKONG HARBOUR THE INSPIRATION

This is a 1988 original acrylic hand painting of HongKong artist Raymund Liu.
Raymund, a very private person was a reclusive traditionalist Chinese master painter who refuses to sell his paintings thru art galleries.

He lived in the secluded Victoria Mountains of the famed tourist attraction in Victoria Peak Central HongKong. According to him, the refreshingly cool and serene mountain environment is conducive and instrumental in setting his relaxed creative mood enabling him to rise up early and intuitively interpret the harbor view, mountain and seascape into his canvas.

Mostly, tourist buses loaded with foreigners visit the Victoria Peak Mountains;
and it is a common sight to see them crowding around Raymond's paintings for sale which are simply laid out on the ground pavement for them to choose from his latest artworks.

The fine details are evident in Raymund's depiction of the skyscrapers that are ingeniously interpreted in elevated acrylic lines and shapes which come alive to blend color and structure into sleek architectures.

This magnificent art piece measures 18 X 24 inches and was framed using Narra moulding with a width of 2 1/2 inch solid wood. The entire picture frame measures 23 X 29 inches and weights about 6 pounds.

Artworks of Raymund Liu are considered collector's item in Hongkong since he passed away in 2000. It is widely known that some of his most impressive artworks were bought out by foreigners as souvenirs from their trips.
